The India Labor Report is a fact finding study. The study involves forecasting the future labour scenario of India in 2020 based upon analysis of labour and employment related data sourced from the CSO, NSSO and NCRB. The report studied the labour ecosystem consisting of the employment, employability and labour law in detail. The findings stressed upon the fact that overlapping labour legislation between central and state Governments is hindering the smooth functioning of labour environment. The ideal solution suggested was to implement an ideal federal structure and transfer labour legislation from the concurrent list to state list.
