Keywords Bal Adhikar Pariyojana, UNICEF, IKEA, Child Labour, SHG, Immunization, School Enrolment, Household survey, Alternative Learning Centres, School Chalo Abhiyan, Bal sabhas, Micro-enterprise, Environment, Immunization, FGD, Cash Credit Limit, Auxiliary Nurse Midwife, Primary Health Centre, , The main aim of this study was to monitor and evaluate an integrated community-based program known as ‘Bal Adhikar Pariyojana’ which aims at eliminating child labour among the carpet weaving communities in a group of villages in Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh and providing greater awareness with motivational factors that would help in the total prevention of child labour. Apart from the objective of sustainable prevention of child labour, the BAP program also puts forth few important sub-objectives including community awareness on child (bal) rights (adhikar), access to quality primary education for all, ensuring better health practices such as immunization of children, enabling a greater sense of community, contributing to freedom of households from debt cycle, women’s (economic) empowerment.
