Abstract
Small Sector In India: Status, Growth And De-Reservation:- Small Scale Industrial Sector contributes significantly to India’s overall industrial production. This study, conducted for MoSSI Govt. of India, analyzed unit level time series data from Annual Survey of Industries, SSI third Census and National Sample Survey Organization in order to study the current status and performance of the SSI sector India, both registered as well as unregistered. Another important component of the study was to measure the impact of de-reservation on import, export, technology, production etc. for the products de-reserved. It also suggested a way for future de-reservation sequencing for the products still reserved for exclusive production by the SSI’s and how the whole process has to be executed with proper consultation with the SSI organizations.
