A pilot study has been initiated in Bajna block in Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh for convergent planning for children (from pre-natal to 11 years) with a holistic and multi sectoral approach is essential for ensuring optimum child development. Naandi Foundation has been assigned the responsibility of implementing the convergent and decentralized village level planning while Indicus Analytics has been given the assignment of evaluating the pilot. This involves monitoring and tracking various aspects of the pilot before, during and after the completion of the pilot. A baseline survey has been conducted to collect data of both the service providers at the facilities and the beneficiaries. The overall monitoring exercise would attempt at a better understanding of how convergence can be sustainably achieved and whether such a planning is an effective tool towards better child development. The immediate concern of the baseline survey was to present the status with respect to service provision and the utilization of these services. The various activities that have been conducted under the baseline to capture the successes and failures of the pilot are both quantitative and qualitative in character.
