There are different sources of funds for health expenditure, including the State and Central governments, foreign funds, household expenditure, public and private firms and Non-Government Organizations (NGOs). A part of the expenditure by the government is undertaken under the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) and the Employee State Insurance Scheme (ESIS).
