The basic inference which can be drawn from the June figure is that there is a downward trend
By Hitesh Vyas MUMBAI, JUL 14 (TickerNews Service): Initial comments of Sumita Kale, chief economist, Indicus Analytics, on India's Wholesale Price Index-based inflation rising to 10.55% in June from a year ago. A TickerNews poll of economists had forecast June WPI inflation at 10.80%. SUMITA KALE, CHIEF ECONOMIST, INDICUS ANALYTICS "Inflation figure for June at 10.55% is in line with expectation. "The basic inference which can be drawn from the June figure is that there is a downward trend. "June inflation figure would be very reassuring to policy makers. "There is a less probability of rate hike by Reserve Bank of India at its July policy review, as the central bank increased key rates at the beginning of the year and also everything is moving downward."
